1) Please read these regulations and fill in the application, in block letters.

2) Please ask the Associate Director for information on our holdings and indexes, and general procedures for visitors.

3) A separate request form is needed for each archival unit requested. One day's notice is required; you may telephone us in advance.

4) Materials which are on microfilm will be supplied as reproductions. Originals will only be available in special cases, at the discretion of the Associate Director.

5) While reviewing the file, please do not add notations or change the sequence of the documents. Do not use objects or substances which may damage the documents such as food, markers or flammable materials. No documents may be taken outside of the Institute.

6) You may use books from the Institute library, or books you have brought with you. You may make copies (ask for  price list). You may use your laptop computer.

7) The availability of materials may be limited if the file you need is in bad condition or being reorganized or restored.

8) Materials used or cited in publications should be acknowledged as coming from the archives of the Pilsudski Institute. The publication of reproductions of individual documents, or groups of documents, has to be covered by a separate agreement. The use of materials for commercial purposes (such as exhibits, radio, television, advertising, reproductions in publications) has to be covered by a separate agreement. The Institute requests a free copy for our library of any publication in which the use of Institute's materials is acknowledged.
