On January 23rd, at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, General Electric Company Polska was awarded a prestigious Corporate Catalyst Award granted by the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America. The Institute applauded GECP as a forerunner of innovation for operating the Engineering Design Center and years of the company’s successful investments in Poland. The Gala took place at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, with representatives from the Chancellery of the President of Poland, U.S. Embassy in Poland, American Chamber of Commerce in Poland and the Pilsudski Institute of America.

On June 12th, 2019, Iwona Korga, President of the Pilsudski Institute visited the White House as a guest of the reception hosted by President Donald Trump to honor the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda and his wife, Agata Kornhauser-Duda. Representatives of Polonia were invited to join and celebrate friendly relations between Poland and the USA.
On May 19th, 2019 the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America organized its second Museum Night. A crowd gathered to visit the Institute, to see our gallery of paintings along with an interesting exhibit - "75 years of the Pilsudski Institute", prepared in cooperation with the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland. The uniforms of the Polish Armed Forces in the West were also presented from our collection - thank you to the students from PSS p.p. Cyril and Methodius for your help!
"Museum Night of 2019" was dedicated to generał Bolesław Wieniawa-Długoszowski. He was the main character of the movie "Wieniawa" by Grzegorz Gajewski. Iwona Korga, President of IJP gave a speech introducing Wieniawa's story, presented letters, photographs, and military memorabilia from our collection. The audience welcomed her presentation and the movie with applause. The event was sponsored by PSFCU and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.

On March 29th, 2019, a conference “ 1st Eastern European Student History Conference” was held at Kingsborough Community College, City University of New York. The conference was organized by Professor Jacek Czarnecki from Kingsborough Community College and a member of the Pilsudski Institute of America, in co-operation with the Institute. Mr. Czarnecki invited representatives of the American universities, who in their academic work focuses on history of Poland. The special guest of the conference, and a lecturer, was the Consul General of the Republic of Poland, Maciej Golubiewski. The conference was attended by: Piotr Puchalski from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Marcin Nagórski from Hunter College (CUNY), Matthew Ziarnik from Villanova University, Jeremy Wong from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY), Paulina Wojciechowska from Seton Hall University and Aleksandra Korga from the Academy of American Studies. The young panelists presented selected topics from history of Poland.
