We are introducing the new Institute webpage, the Archival Collections Online, which for the first time affords a full access to selected archival fonds of the Institute. The archives have been digitized in the Institue by its staff, volunteers and interns form the Polish National Archives and the Institute of National Remembrance. Since 2010 the Polish Senate and Semper Polonia Foundation sponsor the digitization project.

The digitization of the archives was preceded by a pilot project of Silesian Uprisings. The digitization was begun in 2008 with the purchase of equipment, preparation of workflow and training of volunteers. The training and technical side is the responsibility of Artur Kowalski and Marek Zieliński, the supervision of the staff and review of the work is done by Iwona Korga, the whole project is managed by Marek Zieliński. The webpage has been designed and built by the 3W Serwisy Informacyjne software designer from Gliwice, Poland.

At present seven fonds are available, the work on the subsequent collections is in progress.

How to use the service

The webpage allows full access to the original documents. The user is responsible for following the copyright rules, as set in the Copyright Statement. All researchers and users are requested to fill out the User Questionnaire which will help us to improve the service.
