The Awards Ceremony took place on November 4th at the Consulate General of Poland in New York.
The Institute's awards promote Polish culture, science and business in the USA. Traditionally, the Institute's awardees are outstanding scientists, artists and business leaders.
In 2021 the Institute awarded:
- LOT Polish Airlines - the Marshal Pilsudski Leadership and Achievement Award. The Institute recognized LOT Polish Airlines for building modern and stable brand that grows along with independent Poland. The Institute appreciated recent expansion of the LOT's network to the United States.
- Profesor Neal Pease - Wacław Jędrzejewicz History Medal. The Institute awarded prof. Pease for his research on the history of Poland, focusing on the period of the Second Polish Republic-1918-1939, and his active role in Polish-American historical institutions.
- Profesor Bill Johnston - Joseph Conrad Literature Medal. The Institute recognized prof. Johnston for his outstanding achievements translating Polish literature into English. Professor Johnston translated a number of classical and contemporary Polish authors, including: Mickiewicz, Słowacki. Kochanowski, Żeromski, Lem, Myśliwski, Stasiuk, Tuli.
- Marek Zieliński, PhD - Medal Merentibus. The Institute awarded dr Marek Zieliński posthumously. Marek Zieliński was a long-term vice-president of the Institute, the creator and guardian of the digitization program of the Institute's archival resources.
