The Józef Piłsudski Institute of America is proud to continue its long-standing partnership with the Polish-English Dual Language Program at P.S. 34 in Greenpoint, supporting history education and promoting Polish heritage among young learners.

Throughout the 2025–2026 school year, students from the bilingual program visited the Institute several times to explore Polish history and culture. In December, during our holiday workshops, the youngest students enthusiastically created festive ornaments that could also be used as bookmarks while learning about the history of the Christmas tree tradition. In May, students in grades 1–5 took part in history lessons led by Dr. Iwona Korga, discovering the history and geography of Poland and learning about two outstanding Polish-American heroes—Generals Tadeusz Kościuszko and Kazimierz Pułaski.

The Institute was also honored to participate in several school events. On May 29, Magdalena Orlicka-So, the Institute's Development Director, attended the Polish-English Dual Language Program Curriculum Showcase, where students proudly presented projects marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. We extend our special appreciation to Renata Naklicka, who developed the presentation, for creating an engaging educational program that introduced students to the history of the United States and highlighted the significant contributions of Poles to the nation's development.. On June 12, we joined the school's 77th Annual Flag Day Celebration and congratulated the entire P.S. 34 community on a beautiful, moving, and deeply patriotic ceremony.

We sincerely thank the school administration, teachers, students, and parents for their many years of partnership and for welcoming us to these special events. Our heartfelt thanks go to teacher Aleksandra Pietrusiewicz for coordinating our collaboration and organizing the students' visits to the Institute, as well as for her longstanding dedication to the bilingual program and to preserving the Polish language, history, and culture while helping inspire future generations of young Polish Americans.
