The fifth edition of the “Cursed Soldiers” Run took place on March 1st, 2020 at Forest Park, Queens, New York. The event gathered around two hundred runners. The distance of 1963 refers to the year when the last cursed soldier was killed. The President of the Pilsudski Institute of America, Iwona Korga Ph.D, with Consul Mateusz Gmura from the Consulate General of Poland in New York and Paweł Myśliwiec from Polska Running Team, greeted everyone. The Run attracts attention of many young people. We thank the scouts from Podhale and Warmia detachments, the students from Polish Saturday schools: Henryk Sienkiewicz, Saint Cyril and Methodius, Saint Jadwiga and the Polish Consulate School in New York for joining us on March 1st.
The Institute congratulates the winners of men's run: Aleksander Jopek, Paweł Myśliwiec, Olaf Klos and women's run: Aleksandra Stolarczyk, Agnieszka Casper and Małgorzata Gausin. We thank all the volunteers, members of the Board of Directors of Pilsudski Institute of America and everyone who joined us at Forest Park to honor Cursed Soldiers. We hope to see you next year.
