On November 16th, 2022 (Wednesday) at 6 pm, the Institute invites you to a meeting (in English) with prof. Joshua D. Zimmerman entitled: “Józef Piłsudski's Legacy in Modern European History.”

This in-person event will have Q&A format and is based on the latest published book by prof. J. Zimmerman titled: “Jozef Pilsudski. Founding Father of Modern Poland”. In the book, prof. J. Zimmerman examines Jozef Pilsudski, one of the most important political figures of twentieth-century Europe and places the marshal in his rightful position as a statesman with a broad vision.

Dr. Joshua Zimmerman is an associate professor of history at the Yeshiva University, Eli and Diana Zborowski Professorial Chair in Holocaust Studies and East European Jewish History. He received his PhD in comparative history from Brandeis University. His books include “The Polish Underground and the Jews, 1939-1945” (2017) and “Poles, Jews and the Politics of Nationalist: The Bund and the Polish Socialist Party in Late Tsarist Russia, 1892-1914” (2004). His articles on Pilsudski, Ukraine, and the 1920 Battle of Warsaw have recently appeared in the Washington Post, Politico, Daily Beast, Kyiv Post, Engelsberg Ideas, Rzeczpospolita, and The Times of Israel.
