The Pilsudski Institute of America would like to invite all of you to join Honorary Legion of the Pilsudski Institute.
Our mission is to preserve archival materials and provide public access to key historical documents. The Pilsudski Institute of America in its archives possesses unique documents and photos from the Polish-Bolshevik war, including the original order of the Battle of Warsaw, with signatures of Marshal Pilsudski and highest Polish commanders. The Battle of Warsaw, also known as the “Miracle on the Vistula'', fought from August 12th to 25th, 1920, turned the tide of Polish-Bolshevik war and prevented the Bolshevik revolution from spreading into western Europe. Historical documents from that period are availiable on our website.
The Honorary Legion, created at the Institute several years ago, is a fundraising initiative to support the Institute, with a pledge of $5,000. All who join the Honorary Legion receive honorary badge - replique of Legionary Cross. The names of individuals and institutions who join the Honorary Legion are engraved on a commemorative plaque displayed at the Institute Gallery. The proceeds of the Honorary Legion are used to support the Pilsudski Institute to continue its mission of preserving and promoting Polish national heritage, history and culture in the USA.
