Honorary Legion of the Pilsudski Institute

The Pilsudski Institute of America would like to invite all of you to join Honorary Legion of the Pilsudski Institute.

Kielce The idea of the Institute’s Honorary Legion refers to First Cadre Company (Pierwsza Kompania Kadrowa) that on August 6th, 1914, began a historic march towards Poland's freedom. The Honorary Legion was created at the Institute several years ago. Our dream is to have 145 Legionnaires - just as much as First Cadre Company, and the 100th anniversary of regaining independence by Poland in 2018, is a perfect occasion to accept new members to our elite group.

All, who join the Legion receive a honorary badge - replique of Legionary Cross and our newly published, unique album presenting the Institute's collections. The badge will be handed over to the recipients during an official Gala in the Fall of 2018, with the presence of high ranked representatives of the Polish government. The event will be a part of celebration of 100th anniversary of regaining independence by Poland in 1918. The names of individuals and institutions who join the Honorary Legion are engraved on a commemorative plaque displayed at the Institute Gallery

Replika krzyza legionowegoHonorary Legion is our fundraising initiative, with a pledge of $5,000. Proceeds are used to support the Pilsudski Institute to continue its mission of preserving and promoting Polish national heritage, history and culture in the USA.
